REIKI FOR STRESS

Reiki is a natural source of stress relief. Understanding where, how and why stress occurs for you is the first step to regaining control of it. Reiki is a powerful stress reliever and is totally safe.
The fight or flight response of our ancestors was important to survival in prehistoric times; today with so little physical outlet for our tension, stress tends to cause an unhealthy buildup of hormones that can lead to significant disease. Stress can produce the following effects on your body:Digestion slows downBreathing speeds upHeart races and blood pressure soarsPerspiration cools the bodyMuscles tenseBlood clots fasterSugar and fat pour into the bloodIt can accelerate Dis-ease including:AllergiesAsthmaMigrainesIrritable Bowl SyndromeHivesHigh blood pressureHeart Disease
Stress can make you unhappy - filled with feelings of depression, anxiety, panic, inadequacy, pessimism and dissatisfaction. It can make you hard to live with, since people who are stressed are often irritable, irrational and hostile. Stress can affect your work performance as well causing your to be forgetful lethargic and unable to make decisions.
You may be feeling depressed right now with all this talk about negative effects of stress on our health. But it's vital to remember that while your emotions and beliefs can influence your susceptibility to disease, they can also be the conduits of healing. Stress, anger and depression can pump out stress hormones that can be profoundly harmful. At the same time positive beliefs, expectations, attitudes and feelings can lead to changes in the brain that lead to healing responses. If the mind and body are connected, that connection doesn't lead just one way. Stress can hurt you, but positive emotions can heal.
Feeling more relaxed yet? Probably not - you've been seeing all the ways stress can make you sick. Try to identify the sources of your stress, Pay attention to your internal dialogue - shoulds, oughts, have to s and can'ts - what limiting beliefs do you have that are affecting you negatively?Pay attention to your physical response to stress. We all react differently to situations. Some deal well under pressure, while others in a similar situation become enormously stressed. Your body responds to the meaning you make of the experience. By representing the meaning differently to yourself you can change your response and hence your stress. Stress is not what happens to you, but how you represent what happens to you and react to that.
Reiki can channel positive energy and realign your sense of balance and perspective. With balance and perspective we are more equipped to deal with the unexpected and the annoying day to day incidents that build up stress in us. If you find yourself recreating old patterns and behaviours that build up stress, maybe Reiki is for you….
